It is the source of all true art and science.
Albert Einstein

I am overwhlemed by the existence of our next "microbes." It's out there, waiting for us to find it! What will it be? What do we hold as truth that will soon be blasted away as silliness? Or what fantastic new fact will suddenly come our way and change everything we ever thought of as true? Just the chance to witness these happenings makes life a very interesting thing, indeed!
PD, thanks for reveing up my "wonder," and making my day more worthwhile!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4795483213843043301.post-61693691607768882262007-09-26T09:32:00.000-07:002007-09-26T09:32:00.000-07:00OK -- looks like I might need a whole 'nother post...OK -- looks like I might need a whole 'nother post for this.PortlyDykehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08598941981828041835noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4795483213843043301.post-8439192176196723032007-09-26T02:05:00.000-07:002007-09-26T02:05:00.000-07:00D.U.C.? In eastern philosophies, total consciousness is often equated to or represented by the sublime state of emptiness. In western philosophies, consciousness is often described as self-awareness, cognition and engagement. What is the flavor of the D.U.C.? How is it manifest?NikEPoohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00346216939792464071noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4795483213843043301.post-42734404033568142202007-09-25T23:24:00.000-07:002007-09-25T23:24:00.000-07:00Brian, I've read Dawkins, and your comparison does...Brian, I've read Dawkins, and your comparison doesn't fit for me -- I do not consider God "impersonal" -- perhaps "trans-personal", if that makes any sense to you.

If you ask me for details about the "Divine Unifying Consciousness" (God) that I believe in, I'd be glad to answer.PortlyDykehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08598941981828041835noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4795483213843043301.post-16563375690810370512007-09-25T21:42:00.000-07:002007-09-25T21:42:00.000-07:00I'm going to try to blow your mind here. Or rather, concedes may exist--a universal consciousness of sorts, a sense of how the universe fits together. Dawkins gets a lot of undeserved grief because he mocks christians and other personal, interfering-with-human-affairs god believers, and yeah, he's rude about it, but he's very much in favor of trying to make sense of the universe, and it sounds to me like you are too. As am I. I'm a poet after all. That's what we do, in a roundabout, sometimes utterly confusing and drunken way.Brianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11057141977192915700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4795483213843043301.post-91939497199305463932007-09-25T18:16:00.000-07:002007-09-25T18:16:00.000-07:00Thank you for that captivating tour du reason. Its kinda scary how your thoughts have arranged themselves in a pattern that is so similar to my own ... given the likely disparate nature of our lives. Perhaps there is an explanation for that. Hmm ... I'll have to think on it.NikEPoohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00346216939792464071noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4795483213843043301.post-77562696506037994392007-09-25T08:18:00.000-07:002007-09-25T08:18:00.000-07:00Wow. Better yet, I wish you could come over to this coast and speak at my church (well, maybe to a small section of our congregation).liberalandproudhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13274467356046257967noreply@blogger.com
